Townes has been an active seed and early-stage investor for nearly four decades, most recently as founder and managing partner at Solidus Company. Before that, he was a partner at both Massey Burch and Bass, Berry, and Sims where he focused on corporate and securities matters and represented a number of VC firms and entrepreneurial companies. He has been an active member of over two dozen boards of directors throughout his career and served as interim CEO of Comptronix Corporation from 1993-1997. He received his JD from Washington & Lee and his BA from Vanderbilt.
